Metals extracted during this stage may either be used as raw materials or reused to manufacture new products.
7. Water separating stage-This is the last stage of the waste recycling process whereby water is used to separate plastics from a glass.Once the process is over, all the materials that have been extracted may be sold for re-use. Some of the products that are sold which come out of the recycling process include plastics, iron, copper, steel, circuit boards, and other metal mixes.
Components reuse from the recycling process
a) Plastics-Plastics recovered from the recycling process are sold to recyclers who may use them to manufacture products such as fencing posts, sleepers, vineyard stakes, trays, equipment holders, insulators among other products.
b) Metals-Metals generated from the process may be used to manufacture steel and other metallic materials once delivered to recyclers.
c) Glass-Glass is mostly derived from cathode ray tubes which are mostly found on computer monitors and TVs. f) Hard drives-these are shredded into aluminum particles which are then used in locomotive industries.
g) Ink and toner cartridges-These are taken to suitable manufacturing industries where they are recycled. They may either be manufactured and some which cannot be manufactured are separated into either metals or plastics and then used as raw materials
h) Batteries-Batteries are also taken to the specialized manufactures where plastics may be extracted from them. Metals such as steel, cobalt, and cadmium may also be extracted from them and may be used as raw materials during the manufacturing of new batteries.
